Family law appeals: Sweetin hopes to keep child support terms

Having the ability to support their children is a goal of many parents. Being able to provide emotional bonds and financial support can often help parents feel as if they are helping their children thrive. After a divorce, child support may be needed in order to ensure that the children's needs are met. However, family law appeals may be necessary if one parent wants to make changes to support terms.

New York residents may be interested in such a situation involving actress Jodie Sweetin. The former Full House and current Fuller House star has a 7-year-old daughter with ex-husband Morty Coyle. Coyle has apparently been attempting to get more child support from Sweetin and has filed a court petition in hopes of doing so.

Though Coyle claims that Sweetin makes approximately $700,000 a year, her financial documents, which she filed with the court, indicate that her annual income is closer to $500,000. She hopes that the request for additional support will be denied. It was not detailed what their current child support arrangement is. It was also reported that the judge on the case has not yet ruled on the situation.

When individuals feel that changes need to be made to current divorce-related arrangements, or when they feel the need to defend current terms, taking legal action may be necessary. Family law appeals may be able to help individuals in this type of situation. New York residents who may wish to follow such a route could find it useful to discuss their options with knowledgeable attorneys.
